Fashion for Tall Women

Posted by iBuysblogger on Monday May 10, 2010 Under Fashion

Women who are tall, that is 5′ 9” and above, have their own set of fashion issues just like shorter women. While the fashion industries uses unbelievable tall women to show their latest styles, the clothing that is actually in the stores are more for an average women. One would think that the stores would have the clothes like the designers made them for the models but, sadly, this is just not the case.

Swimming suits are a fashion problem many tall women face. This issue is more common when looking for a one piece swim suit. Most one piece swimming suits are only long enough for the average sized women’s torso. Tall women will find that with the awkwardness in the swimming suit is when the lower part comes up too high on the body or the upper part is too high or sometimes both the upper and the lower parts are totally disproportionate. Unless a woman just has long legs that make her tall, one piece can be a bit of a problem. It can be better to stick to the two piece on which at least won’t have the issues of an “ill-fitted garment”.

The biggest complaint, and most well known for tall women is the problem they face with their jeans and trousers. It is quite common that they struggle to find a proper and proportionate length for the style that are looking for or the waist line that they want to go for. This issue is very common in low and medium prices brands, yes, high end designer clothes will not have this issue as much as the lower end high street brands will have, but then, how many time would we go and buy a high end designer jeans and trousers.

In this day and age trousers and jeans have become a way of life for women and especially working women and why not, they are easy to handle and comfortable to wear. You don’t have to worry about the high wind or a bit of push up while you are at lunch or even in the office. With taller women, jeans and trousers are even more popular because to wear skirts there is a general feeling that you need to have “perfect legs”, although it is really hard to define what “perfect leg” is!

Some women don’t want to appear too tall and for those Cuffed trousers are a good deal, they will make a women’s height seem less. Cuffed trousers do shorten the look of the legs as a whole.

It is also very important to understand what fitting means and how it should look on you. Anything that has the required length and waist that suits your body is not always a well fit. You need to wear only that jeans or trouser that makes your lower body appear the way you want. If you want to reveal your figure then a tight fitting jeans can be the best buy for you, sometime you are in a profession where you want to present yourself in a mild manner and that is when a loose fit will be good, thus revealing only what you want to reveal and concealing the rest.

The length of your trousers or jeans is heavily dependent on the footwear that you are wearing. High heel shoes or footwear would require a slightly longer trouser length where as flat shoes would mean that you would not want to drag your trousers on the floor.

Jeans are good to control the length, you can fold them up a bit just to fit your required length and even that looks good. Jeans are casual though and it is not possible to fold up the trouser length when you are wearing formal wear.  An extra eighth of an inch can be added to the length of your trousers if the idea is to wear them with higher heels.

Cargo pants are one such design that suits a taller woman much better. They make you look wider and when you have the height you can carry that easily. Shorter women will look wide and thus shorter than what they are in Cargo trousers. There are some fashion perks to being tall.

Ultimately the most important thing that everyone should remember in fashion is that you should wear what you feel good in, feel comfortable in and can carry it easily. No fashion is worth doing if it leaves you uncomfortable and prevents you from enjoying the occasion you are in.

Fashion Tips for Petite Women

Posted by iBuysblogger on Wednesday May 5, 2010 Under Fashion

Women who are petite, as well as have curves, need to us their clothing to lengthen their bodies as much as possible, while also reducing the look of it volume. There are some general rules for women whose figure fit this description. To be able to hide the figure of a short curvy body, there are a few tips you can follow.

  1. The number one focus needs to be on lengthening the look of your body. The most common error that petite women commit when it comes to their wardrobe is to cut their bodies in two with short jackets and belts. The attention gets drawn to the shortness of your body if you wear a jacket that stops at your waist, a belt on the top of your pants or over a blouse at the waist, because it put the body into two sections. Instead strive to create complete lines to make you look longer.
  2. Do not wear more fabric in the waist area then needed. If you have curves then you will already have enough volume in this area to manage, adding more will only bring attention to this area.
  3. It is a common myth that extremely long skirts will lead to your legs appearing longer. In reality these baggy and long skirts do the opposite. Long skirts only make you look taller if they are straight and stop at the ankle.
  4. A good way to make your legs appear to have more length is to wear pants (trousers / jeans) that have a straight cut and cover high heel shoes or boots. If they come almost to the floor, it will make your legs appear to be the length of the shoes, the taller the heel the taller you are and the longer your legs look.
  5. While you can mix your colors up, it is best to stick to a single color to make you appear taller and thinner. Add color to your outfits through jewelry, shoes and handbags.
  6. Do not wear thick material because it will only leave you looking even bulkier.
  7. If you are carrying around extra weight, the best trick to hide it is by wearing clothes that fit properly. If they are too big they will balloon out to make you appear larger and if they are too tight they will show every bump.
  8. Clothes that are too tight are a risk. Clothes that cling to your tummy or show off the rolls on your back are not attractive. Neither are pants so tight that you upper body mushrooms over the edge. All this will only bring unwanted attention to your problem areas.
  9. If at all possible, petite women should wear shoes with higher heels as much as possible. This does not mean stilettos; there are great wedge shoes available as well. Although a sexy stiletto with a straight cut pants is the perfect combination to give you added length and height.
  10. Never forget that any fault in your figure can be camouflaged with the right clothing

8 Tips to Consider Before Your Next Handbag Purchase

Posted by iBuysblogger on Wednesday Apr 28, 2010 Under Fashion

Choosing the right handbag can be a daunting task when there are so many options out there. All the different designs, styles, colors and fabrics can be dizzying. Knowing which handbag to choose can be easier if you take into account the following eight tips.

  1. Do not forget that while you want to remain a fashion diva, your handbags is ultimately something that needs to be useful for your lifestyle. If you try you will easily find the perfect handbags that are a great lend of practicality and style.
  2. Clutch bags were first designed for formal occasions but are not being found everywhere. They are designed to only carry the basic essentials but you can get more miles if you find one that is more in the shape of a make-up bag than a the stand flat clutch. This will give you more room that fasten it securely and make your clutch suitable for a quick trip to the store or a night on the town.
  3. The handbag you purchase for your everyday use should be chosen wisely. Smalls bags are simply not going to work if you carry many items with you on a daily basis. Medium to large size bags will probably work better for you. Just remember to not make them too big because this can lead to back strain if you manage to fill it up.
  4. If you are a busy mom or college student that carries their life around with them on a daily basis, be sure to get a larger bag with plenty of pockets. Whether they are inside or out, the will be a necessity for keep all your item organized and within easy reach as you dash from one place to another.
  5. Even if you do carry a great deal of items around you can still carry the larder handbags that are in style right now but a smaller handbag may make finding your desired item much simpler and faster.
  6. Pay attention to how the size of your hand bags compares to your body size. While their shape should be the opposite of yours, the size should be comparable. Larger women should carry large structured bags while smaller women look better with smaller softer handbags.
  7. Your handbag should coordinate with your outfits but does not need to match exactly. A large formal, black leather handbag is not going to go well with a soft, floral summer dress. While the materials do not need to match, they should be in the same category.
  8. Never forget that you get what you pay for and handbags are no exception.  While a cheap handbag will seem like a great deal, they are not going to last as long. Investing in top quality bags will allow you to purchase them less frequently and save money in the long run. Of course if you are the type who quickly loses interest in a new handbag and/or likes to change them out often, you may be able to get away with purchasing many cheaper bags since they will not get as much individual use.

Beautiful Hair that wont’ Break the Bank

Posted by iBuysblogger on Monday Apr 12, 2010 Under Fashion

Most women today are finding themselves in tough financial times and our looking for ways to cut back. When it comes to their hair however, many feel to cut back on this expense may have a negative effect not only to the look but the over all health of their hair. Good news is that there are many lower cost options that will allow your hair to retain its health and beauty while also letting your wallet retain more cash.

To really know how to keep your hair healthy on a budget you need to know how healthy hair operates. The structure and integrity of the fibers of your hair must be kept in tact to have healthy hair. The root of your hair, or its follicle, consists of hair keratins which are small structures that are grouped together with a hard outer shell or cuticle. This shell is what protects them. If there is damage done to the shell it will break open and expose the keratin.

This is the reason you may have frizzy hair that has flyaways and a dull look. To have truly healthy hair you must protect the cuticle. The products you use on you hair must be gentle enough to keep it safe while effective enough to properly remove dirt and hair products. Armed with this information you can see how you may be able to make just minor changes to your hair care that can save you money but still leave your hair healthy.

The brush you use may be the easiest solution. Expensive boar bristle brushes have long been said to be better for your hair. The truth is that they can actually cause more damage because the course bristles go against the natural grain of your hair, breaking the cuticle. You can not only save money by purchasing a less expensive plastic bristled brush but make your hair healthier at the same time.

Shampooing is a vital part of you hair care and there are several ways to save in this area. Your shampoo is meant for the cleaning of your scalp, not really the hair. For this reason those will longer hair really just need to wash the scalp and not all of the hair which will use considerably less shampoo. Also if you do not have oily skin it can actually be better for hair to not wash it daily. Over washing can strip the hair and cause it to break easier as well as give your scalp problems. You also need not waste your money on expensive shampoos. Regardless of what the bottles say, most shampoos have the same basic ingredients and formula.

Conditioner is one of the most important parts of a healthy hair care routine. Conditioners is specifically made to restore your hair from root to tip. Just like shampoo though most formulas are the same so be sure to check out the bottles of your expensive salon brand with those that are cheaper on the store shelf. If you have severe damage and use deep conditioning treatments there is no need to do this at the salon. The salon uses the exact same products that can be found on your store shelf.

Basics of Make up on a Budget

Posted by iBuysblogger on Monday Apr 5, 2010 Under Fashion

When applied correctly make up should show off your natural beauty while hiding your flaws. This is why there are literally hundreds of products on the market aimed for women’s make up needs. Most of these products will cost too much if you are on a budget. The good news is that you can get the same results for much less and often even for free.

To get the sexy Smokey eyes you desire you can opt to use a carbon pencil which can cost much less then eye liners and pencils but give you the same long lasting effects. Apply it in a line just above and below the eyelash. Then, with a brush, blend the inner edges to make them lighter. Then put some extra in the corner of the eyes to finish off the look.

A method to quickly add some color to your cheeks is to pinch them. This is something that has been used since your great grandmother’s day as well as recently by makeup artist. Also you can get double duty out of your lipstick and foundation by combing a small amount of each together then blend on to your cheeks. It will also give you a more natural look.

Simply brushing your lips with an old toothbrush will give them volume and bring out their natural color. Then you can apply inexpensive Vaseline to give them shine and protection. Vaseline is also great for moisturizing your skin to give it a great glow as well as shaping unruly eyebrows.

One of the fastest ways to save money on makeup is to simply use less of it. You do not need to do a full make up job every day. If you are not going anywhere but the grocery stores a basic look will do. Also you can choose one feature each day to play up and then skimp on the rest. Right now the natural look is extremely popular which is great if you are on a budget. This means your every day look can be as simple as foundation, mascara and lip gloss. If you have a great complexion to start with, you can even skip the foundation.

If you have a drawer full of barely used products because after purchasing them you realized that they did not work as promised, you may want to look into getting samples before you purchase them. This is especially true for the more expensive items. You can search on the internet for the company’s website to see if they give away free samples. Most companies are more than happy to do this if they have a great product. This way you can see if the product is really worth the investment or if a cheaper version is just as good.

Shopping at stores that have easy going return policies is also a good idea. There are several stores that will allow you to return opened products that you are unsatisfied with if you do it within reasonable amount of time and there is ample product left. You can either get a refund or store credit. This will greatly reduce your product graveyard as well.

How do Men Cope Without a Handbag

Posted by iBuysblogger on Tuesday Feb 16, 2010 Under Fashion

Sitting on the bus the other day my friend made a comment that literally had me crying with laughter. Two minutes later I looked like something from a Halloween party with black smudgy panda eyes and I realised that I probably should ‘tidy’ myself up a little. I reached into my handbag, got out my mirror, wiped my eyes delicately with a wet wipe and opened up my makeup bag ready to reapply what I had just wiped off. This got me thinking – how do men cope without a handbag?

I mean it’s not like men need to carry makeup but there are certain things that I personally can’t live without…like tissues. Whether the sun is shining or the air is icy cold, I could never be without tissues and these always have a home in my handbag. My phone – doesn’t really need explaining, but where would we be without our phones? Wallet – nothing in this world is free. Bunch of keys – ok maybe I don’t have to carry around spare keys for the shed from my previous address or the bike lock that I never use, but I can’t bring myself to remove them from the pretty beaded key fob. Various medication – you never know when you might get a headache, backache or a touch of hay fever. Chewing gum and or mints – I like to keep fresh throughout the day. Mini deodorant – ditto. Hairbrush – I don’t want to end up looking like a cave woman at the end of the day. Plasters – those shoes are killing me! The list just goes on and on…

I think it’s safe to say that women carry more things then men, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have been out without a handbag before and it was traumatic – I had to squeeze my loose change, mobile phone, eyeliner, lipstick and keys into my tiny pockets and ended up feeling and looking ‘lumpy’ at the sides. Most men don’t seem to mind carrying everything in their pockets, no matter how bulky it looks. There are exceptions of course, there are men out there that have seen the error of their ways and have invested in a ‘man bag’.

‘Man bags’ take many different forms – usually a rucksack or courier style bag worn across the shoulder. They offer a stylish alternative to bulky pockets and enable men to carry their own essentials – whatever they may be! So, the next time you go out with a man and he asks if you could pop his camera or phone in your bag, refuse and tell him to invest in a man bag or bigger pockets!

Handbags You Can Afford to Match Every Outfit

Posted by iBuysblogger on Saturday Feb 13, 2010 Under Fashion

Nothing is better than having a collection of handbags available to coordinate with all the outfits you have in your closet. If money was no object, most women would have a handbag to match every outfit they have. But, money is certainly a concern for most people especially in today’s economic times.

But just because money may be tight does not mean that you have to sacrifice style. With a few tips you can have affordable handbags to match every outfit. You don’t have to stop buying them all together, simply shop smarter and you can find that you will have plenty of handbags to match your entire wardrobe without breaking the bank or going into debt.

When considering a new handbag, look at your wardrobe and determine the color scheme you most often wear. For example, if you typically wear conservative, dark colors, choose a handbag that will work well with those.

Instead of buying dozens of handbags in different colors, choose neutral shades that will work with the majority of your wardrobe. Perhaps buy a brown and black handbag as well as one more brightly colored purse. This way you don’t spend a lot of money but maximize the handbags you have for the most outfits.

Another thing to consider is the style of clothing you wear. If you are like most women you probably have a variety of different styles of clothing. You probably have some professional outfits, some casual clothes and a few snazzy outfits for club wear or going out on the town.

Choose handbag styles that will work well for each occasion. Choose a typically casual style of handbag like the hobo bag or tote. You may also want to get a more formal purse such as a clutch for evenings out. Both a shoulder bag and satchel are good all purpose styles that work well for any occasion.

Classic styles and colors are also a good investment when it comes to handbags. While everyone likes to be trendy and get the occasional handbag that is in style this season, odds are either the color or shape will not be as in style a year from now. But, if you stick with the classic types of handbags you will have a great investment that will last for many years. They are classic because they never go out of style. You can wear them with the trendiest of clothes and the most conservative so are definitely a good investment.

Finally, you should always look for quality in a handbag. While it may seem tempting to go with the cheapest purse, if it will not hold up to a bit of wear and tear, it will not be worth the money you spent on it. Instead, consider spending a little more money for a well made handbag that will last several years with proper care. This way you can get the most out of your money and maximize its use. Affordable handbags to match every outfit in your wardrobe are not difficult to find as long as you know how to shop and what to buy.

Why You Should Never Buy A Fake Designer Handbag

Posted by iBuysblogger on Friday Feb 12, 2010 Under Fashion

They often look cheap
A genuine designer handbag exudes luxury and exclusivity. The fabric is of high quality and every little detail has been carefully thought through creating a well-made bag which is worthy of its (often) hefty price tag. Too many people buy into the ‘brand’ without worrying about quality. Fake designer handbags lack the quality that genuine designer bags boast, which can result in a cheap-looking imitation. Cheap replica handbags look cheap! It also defeats the point of promoting a label if you’re not prepared to purchase the genuine article.

Unless stated as a ‘fake’, replica handbags are illegal
If sellers declare the bags as ‘fake’ then it is legal to sell imitation handbags as they don’t infringe on the designer’s copyright. If they’re not clearly labelled as fake then it’s illegal to sell counterfeit designer handbags.

You’ll be supporting organised crime
If you buy a fake designer handbag then you’re not just simply buying a cheap handbag, you’re supporting a highly organised crime. Many of the bags are produced in Asian countries such as China and are often made by young children who work in poor conditions. Taxpayers are the people who end up with the bill from this illegal enterprise – don’t add to our taxes!

Who wants substance over style?
Ok, so you like Chanel and Luis Vuitton. Everyone has there favourite designer and there’s nothing wrong with wanting a beautiful designer bag but when it comes to buying a fake designer handbag you’re faking so much more than your bag. Don’t forgo the quality for a cheap alternative, either buy a second-hand designer bag or buy a bag inspired by a designer classic.

You could buy a handbag inspired by a designer classic for a fraction of the price.
Why waste money on a cheap fake designer handbag? There’s something tacky about a handbag which has been made with inexpensive materials that has been designed to ‘look’ expensive you’re not fooling anyone! Even the relatively expensive fake designer handbags don’t look 100% like the real thing. If you like a particular design then instead of buying a fake branded handbag why not choose one of the many styles that have been inspired by designer classics? For example if you like the new Gucci hobo then opt for a good quality unbranded leather hobo. There’s a lot available in the market, if you really want you can easily avoid a “fake” one and still remain stylish.
